OUR IMPACT
HIGH-RANKING ITERS & ECERS SCORES
As noted by the Environment Rating Scales Institute (ERSI), “LYFE programs are among the best in the United States as measured each year by their ITERS-R evaluations . . . Children who attend LYFE have the best chance for positive development in a wide range of domains, including language, cognition, social-emotional skills, as well as protection of their health and safety needs."
Each year, the LYFE program is evaluated by ERSI using the Infant-Toddler Environment Rating Scale, Revised Edition (ITERS-R) and Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale, Revised Edition (ECERS-R). LYFE classrooms continue to receive high scores on both scales, with overall program average scores above 5, indicating their delivery of high-quality programs to children and families across NYC.
CHILDREN
The "majority of children attending LYFE are meeting or exceeding their widely held expectations", in every area of development and learning, as measured by Teaching Strategies’ Gold Assessment System.
STUDENT PARENTS
While the DOE's youngest learners are receiving the highest quality of early childhood education in LYFE, student parents are receiving high-quality academic and social-emotional support from LYFE to ensure their progress toward graduation. LYFE social workers relentlessly advocate and support student parents academic success.
Each year, LYFE's report card highlights increased gains in student parents earning 10 or more credits toward graduation.
Each year, on average, there are over 100 LYFE student parent graduates who are celebrated during the annual LYFE Graduate Recognition Ceremony. LYFE support services are vital to ensuring student parents stay on track to graduation.
After graduation, LYFE student parent graduates are prepared to pursue postsecondary options at higher education institutions and/or to secure meaningful career opportunities. Student Parents who transition to college, vocational higher education, and/or other viable career opportunities received continuity of care through LYFE services, ensuring a sustained and successful transition from high school.
